Hi guys...I just got back from the Expo at Yamaha Kemble UK - it was a very interesting day. Free food and drink and arcade machines to boot...but what most of us really wanted to see was the T2 in action. Luckily Yamaha had put on an excellent demo of the T2 done by Martin Harris and it did not dissapoint. I got chance to speak to some Yamaha officials and managed to get some photos of the beast which I will upload as soon as I can. As for the specifications...well there have only been a few specific details released, most of which we already knew. I managed to get a sneaky pic of the T2 feature sheet and the specifications, along with the "brochure" details are displayed below...(again photos will follow!) Digital Keyboards Tyros2 61 keys with initial and after touch 1327 AWM [Advanced Wave Memory] voices Super Articulation technology for ultimate live expression MegaVoice technology for total style realism Organ Flutes 400 styles with Repertoire function Music Finder Vocal Harmony Hard Disk Recorder (with optional HDD) Expandable Voice Memory - up to 1Gb 16-track Sequencer Text Viewer Composite and RGB Video Out Internet Direct Connection Optional TRS-MS02 speaker system As you can see the T2 has many features to look forward to and here are some *OFFICIAL* explanations of some of them (from the "brochure" ) Key Features Super Articulation Technology Taking sonic realism to even greater levels, 'Super Articulation' adds unique performance characteristics to a range of orchestral voices. Just play as normal and ‘Super Articulation’ delivers expressive finger slides to guitar sounds, breathy legato phrasing to saxophjone sounds, or a range of bowing effects to string instruments. New Style Section 400 dynamic styles feature additional MegaVoices, including strings, brass, saxophones, trumpets and new guitar and bass sounds. In addition, sterteo sampled drums, organs, electric pianos and pad sounds create an awesome sound field. Organ Section A host of organ samples and styles, voiced in the UK, faithfully reproduces the sounds of Theatre, Classical, Jazz or Rock organ. Hard Drive Recorder Install an optional Hard Disk Drive and the Hard Drive Recorder enables quick and easy audio recording and allows you to store and burn songs to CD. Vocals or other instruments can be recorded via the line in socket, so everyone can make their own studio quality CDs! And the facility to import real audio from any aound source enables you to play along with your favourite CD. Sample Playback Take advantage of the wide range of sample libraries available and expland Tyros 2’s Sonic palette. UK Home Pack Options With a range of new options available, Tyros 2 can be completely customised to your specific requirements. And the new custom designed slimline speaker stands not only look elegant but offer ultimate control over the sound field. An optional padded bench, in matching silver, completes the Tyros 2 package. So its official…you can play any sound source through the T2 to play along to AND record audio using the Hard Drive Recorder…This is just the tip of the ice berg, no doubt more information will be released on October 1st at the official T2 launch. Enjoy! ![]() UPDATE 07/09/05 Yamaha's pitch bend will FINALLY be looked at in the T2. No longer will you be playing multiple notes and have to worry about pitching all of them. With certain voices (i think mainly voices connected with Country styles) you can play multiple notes and use the pitch bend to only bend either the last note you play or the bottom note you play (i think you can set this option). Just another little tid bit for you ![]() UPDATE 07/09/05 Another thing Matrin said yesterday (which i completely forgot about...sorry guys) is that the T2 has a completely "fresh" style set. Most of the styles are completely new and the ones they have borrowed from the Tyros (V1 & V2) have been updated and now use 'Super Articulation' voices to make them sound better. So we will have lots of brand new styles to play with - aswell as some old favourites ![]() UPDATE 07/09/05 Another thing that was mentioned by Martin was the fact Yamaha UK (ONLY) have focused a lot more on organ sounds and styles. I have been assured that there wont be any LESS styles and voices to make room for these organ style ones, however there will be a few more organy sounding features on the T2 - more apparant than other models (especially European and Oriental ones) UPDATE 06/09/05 The T2 will take advantage of all 3 foot pedals...Sustain, Volume and the DSP Variation can be used to accent the 'Super Articulation' voices. Martin demoed this to us today and you can use the DSP Variation pedal to trigger effects on an instrument - so for example you can have a slide on a distortion guitar....VERY similar to the J-Pop2 style that is available as an extra Yamaha style for the Tyros. If you listen to Intro 3 the mega voice guitar has a slide right at the end of the intro segment. You can recreate that effect with the pedal on the T2! Well you have to be very nice to the right people ![]() They were released on CD as the Tyros V2 (Not the T2) was released...They updated the software on the Tyros and added another 100 odd styles. I had that confirmed by a Yamaha demoer ![]() Yamaha Club (UK Yamaha Mag) has the styles available for download! >>MOZ<< |

Unfortunately i really dont - you will have to talk nicely to Glyn Madden at Yamaha Club UK about getting the styles - unless Ken puts up a VIP area - in which case I will put them in there ![]() They are specialised

Hi, I believe that the Tyros V2 styles mentioned is the ones in the download section. The J-PopHit2 style can be found in the Vol05-WorldFavourites.zip. I requested the styles from Yamaha Germany and they send it to me long ago at no cost. This included the Mega-enhancer software for midi files. It is mentioned that the T2 will have 400 styles, 100 more than the tyros. I will be dissapointed if the "new" styles are those from the CD. Ferdi |
